Preparation for tomorrow’s exam is nightmarish; I’ve made quite the dent in the emergency biscuit stash. On the plus side:

  • The surgeon was pleased with the operation and you’re home - I’m eternally grateful to modern medicine and the wonderful screening system we’re so lucky to have in Wales.
  • Yesterday’s exam went well and I felt quite proud of some of the answers I gave. It’s a really good feeling when you can see how far you’ve progressed.
  • I’m very, very lucky to be going to Paphos June 29th. Aphrodite’s birthplace! Apparently if you swim around her rock you’ll be blessed with eternal beauty… hmm. I’m really excited about this because it’s the perfect combination of beachy laziness and culture to satisfy my inner history geek. And it means an entire 10 days with big sister :)

So recently I agreed with a friend that I’d get another piercing as a post-exam present to myself. I have 23 days to decide, and a hell of a lot of YouTube videos to watch to gauge the pain scale of various options - eek!

Today

is the first time in quite a long time that I’ve woken up and haven’t felt very optimistic.
